If you need urgent help, please call the practice on 01332 519160 during opening hours.
For non-urgent medical or administrative help, you can contact us using our online consultation tool Rapid Health.
This service allows you to tell us about your symptoms, ask questions, or request advice without needing to phone or attend the surgery.
Your request will be reviewed by our clinical or administrative team. Submissions are reviewed during our normal working hours, and we will provide a response once your request has been assessed.
Response times can differ depending on the nature of your enquiry and overall demand.
If you have a medical emergency or need help outside of practice hours, please contact NHS 111 or 999 as appropriate
Routine appointments
To book an appointment please use Rapid Health online.
Appointments with all healthcare professionals are by appointment only and can be booked up to two weeks in advance. The duration of all routine GP appointments is 10 minutes
Mickleover Surgery is a training practice, and patients may be given an appointment with a GP trainee.
To request a routine appointment in advance during opening times:

- use your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App) or SystmOne to book an appointment, screening test or vaccination
When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.
We will use your answers to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or healthcare professional to help you.
Mickleover Surgery is a training practice and patients may be given an appointment with a GP trainee.

Mickleover Surgery is open on a Saturday 9am to 11:45am for pre-booked clinic appointments only.
Your appointment
However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:
- by phone
- face to face at the surgery
- on a video call
- by text or email
Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.
Cancelling or changing an appointment
To cancel your appointment:
- use your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
- using the GP online system: SystmOne
- phone us on 01332 519160 during opening times
If you need help when we are closed
If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or call 111.
NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.
Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.
If you need help with your appointment
Please tell us:
- if there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond
- if you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone, face-to-face, by video call or by text or email
- if you need an interpreter
- if you have any other access or communication needs
Home visits
Please contact reception before 10am if you require a home visit.
A doctor or nurse will call you back to ask some questions to help them assess the need for a home visit. If a home visit is indicated the doctor or nurse will then allocate the request to the most appropriate healthcare professional.
Home visits are only made to housebound patients and those who are medically unfit to travel to the surgery.
Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the surgery.
