New Medicines Order Line for repeat prescriptions

Medicines Order Line

We are introducing a new system for ordering repeat prescriptions. From Wednesday 2 June 2021 patients can use the dedicated Medicines Order Line (MOL).

Simply telephone the Medicines Order Line on 01158 550 260 to request your repeat medication.

Your prescription will be sent electronically to your nominated pharmacy, having first been authorised by your GP. You will then be able to collect your medication direct from your pharmacy within 2 working days of your request being received by the Medicines Order Line.

The Medicines Order Line will be open Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 16:00.

Opening times may be subject to change and exclude Bank Holidays.

Telephone lines are particularly busy on Mondays and the day after Bank Holidays. Afternoons and Wednesday to Fridays are quieter times and the queuing times are shorter.  If possible call later in the day and from mid-week onwards if you are able to do so.

When lines are busy patients can request a call back by emailing, please include the following information in your email:

  • The name of your GP practice
  • Your name
  • Your date of birth
  • Your contact telephone number

Please do not include medication details in your email.

Please note that no responses will be provided via email as the purpose of email is to request a call back only.

Medicines Order Line staff expect to be able to call you back within 2 working days (excluding Saturdays and Sundays and Bank Holidays)

Call back waiting times may vary according to the volume of enquiries being handled at any one time.

Medicines Order Line staff will attempt to call you back three times only. Please keep your phone with you at all times.

It is also important to note that by providing the Medicines Order Line with your email address and details you are giving permission to share your details with other NHS organisations which may also have to share your information so that your request can be completed.

Derby & Derbyshire CCG accepts no responsibility for the incoming transfer of information.
